Prostitution has existed for about 2000 years. Throughout the history of humankind, there were many attempts to eliminate prostitution, but no one could stop prostitution. Prostitution is one of the main survival methods for women who donââ¬â¢t have income to support themselves. As long as there is poverty, prostitution will exist forever. Prostitution is not only about women, but also it is about men. Also, prostitution is related to morality because when it comes to money, people are ready to do anything. According to Melissa, Kenneth, and Alexis (2014) prostitution is now a business advertised on the internet, expanding the reach of pimps to a wider market of potential sex buyers. Women can be sold for 15 minutes or for a week for someoneââ¬â¢s sexual use and selected and purchase online like a rental car. Majority of prostitution today takes place online. Online prostitution provides anonymity for sex buyers and pimps and it eliminates jurisdictional boundaries since internet content can be accessed and published anywhere. For example, four United States criminal cases from 2011 illustrate organized criminalsââ¬â¢ commitment to the use of online technologies for trafficking. Nine men from the Gambino organized crime family in New York were convicted and sentenced for sex trafficking, murder, racketeering, extortion, and wire fraud. The men trafficked young women for sexual use by advertising their prostitution on Crai gslist. The trafficked women are offered to gamblers in the Mafiaââ¬â¢s high-stakes poker businesses.
